We are excited to announce that we are now hosting montlhy raku firings at Clay works! Each firing takes roughly 1.75 hours from start of the burner to finished pieces out of the reduction bins.

We use two 8" tall, 16.5' round shelves and typically split each shelf into 3 equal sections (450 square inches each). Each firing can have up to six people's pieces (dependent on size). Larger pieces can be accommodated by taking up more than one section or by firing with only one shelf.

Kiln techs are present at all times and heat-resistant gloves, safety goggles, and reduction bins with standard combustible materials are provided. People may bring additional combustible materials. Individuals must sign our liability waiver to particpate in the firing and provide their own to wear a respirator if they want to operate a reduction bin.
